Maike started her Face-Yoga career while studying medicine in 2000. Attending FaceYoga evening classes she soon realized that she could really make a difference to her appearance with face yoga exercises. Droopy eyelids and dark eyebags being not uncommon in those days of night shifts as a resident.
During her medical career as a children’s psychiatrist she always kept practicing and evolving her face yoga skills. Attending master classes with numerous Faceyoga teachers to reach a professional Faceyoga level and studying the neuronal feedback effect Faceyoga has on the mood and mindset of her clients.
Nowadays, around the age of 40, she continues her education to become specialist in psychosomatics, while she still works as children’s psychiatrist and teaches Face-Yoga – which long ago has become the base of her daily selfcare and wellness routine – and secret fountain of youth.
Maike lives somewhere between the trees and mountains of Bavaria with her husband and three kids. Climbing hills whenever possible.
With the founding of Mooisnuut Maike makes her Face-Yoga teachings available to a larger audience. Mooisnuut meaning „pretty face“ in the old German language Plattdütsch which is still spoken in traditional parts of northern Germany. But it’s not just about a pretty looking face. Maike is sure that a good looking face is always the reflection of a healthy body and mind. So at Mooisnuut she takes Face-Yoga to a whole new holistic level. Simply fixing the face being too shortsighted and not sustainable from her point of view.
